- Ribar served as President of the Executive Committee (Izvršni odbor | Извршни одбор) sr-l, cr, sl | sr-c of the Anti-Fascist Council for the National Liberation of Yugoslavia (AVNOJ) from the date of his election on 27 Nov 1942. Following the proclamation of AVNOJ as the supreme legislative and executive authority of Yugoslavia during its session on 29/30 Nov 1943, Ribar was elected President of the Presidency of AVNOJ shortly before 02:00 on 30 Nov 1943.
