The composition of the Military Council was not definitively established. According to the minutes of its meetings, it comprised Evertsen, Binckes, and Colve. Abraham Ferdinand van Zijll and Nicolaes Boes were present at the meetings held between 2/12 Aug 1673 and 8/18 Aug 1673.
Colve was appointed by the commission issued by the War Council on 2/12 Aug 1673 and entered in the Council's journal on 9/19 Sep 1673. He began to exercise the functions of Governor General on that date.
