- The President of Turkmenistan was the head of the Council of Ministers in accordance to a law passed on 11 Oct 1990.
- Ahmedow was discharged by a resolution of the Supreme Council (Ýokary Soweti) of Turkmenistan of 13 Nov 1991. His successor was never appointed and the office of Prime Minister ceased to exist when the Constitution of Turkmenistan was promulgated on 18 May 1992.
