[2] Ṣubḥī Beg was elected by the Federal Council on 29 (?) Jun 1922. The term of office is presumed to have commenced on the date of the inauguration of the Federation of the Syrian States (1 Jul 1922).
[3] Pierre-Alype was appointed Envoy Extraordinary to the states of Syria and Jabal Druze o 5 Jan 1926. On 9 Feb 1926 he was entrusted with carrying out administrative affairs of the State of Syria.
[4] Arabic style varies in use. Sometimes: al-Mandūb al-Mumtāz lil-Mufawaḍ al-Sāmī ladā Dawlatay Sūriyyā wa Jabal al-Durūz (المندوب الممتاز للمفوض السامي لدى دولتي سوريا وجبل الدروز)
[5] Nāmī Beg was appointed Head of State by an order of the High Commissioner of the French Republic (dated 26 Apr 1926, Beirut). Nāmī Beg issued a proclamation on assumption of office on 28 Apr 1926 and arrived from Beirut to Damascus on 29 Apr 1926 and was installed in office.
[6] During a transitional period preceding the taking effect of the Constitution of the State of Syria, the High Commissioner of the French Republic (Haut-Commissaire de la République Française) directly managed the affairs of state.
[7] The letter of resignation of al-Atāsī was submitted to the President of the Chamber of Deputies on 8 Jul 1939. Before it could act on resignation, the Chamber was dissolved by an order of the High Commissioner of the French Republic of 8 Jul 1939.
