[2]	Gustaf IV Adolf was taken into custody 13 Mar 1809 when Carl assumed royal functions by proclamation on the same date. The abdication of Gustaf (29 Mar 1809) was unacknowledged. He was deposed by a resolution of the Riksdag of the Estates (10 May 1809), while Carl was confirmed in office.
