La Rioja: Presidents of the Autonomous Community: 1982-2026
The term of office of a President of the Autonomous Community is deemed to commence on the day of the swearing-in ceremony, following election by the Parliament of La Rioja and appointment by a royal decree issued by command of the King of Spain.

- President of the Provincial Deputation (Diputación Provincial) of La Rioja Ibarra Alcoya provisionally assumed the office of President of the Autonomous Community in accordance with the Transitional Provisions of the Statute of Autonomy of La Rioja, which entered into operation on 9 Jul 1982.
- Pending the first general election, the holder of the office of President of the Autonomous Community held provisional status in accordance with the Transitional Provisions of the Statute of Autonomy of La Rioja and was styled accordingly in the royal decrees of appointment.
