- Fryderyk August was effectively taken prisoner by the Allied Powers following the Battle of Leipzig (19 Oct 1813) and was forcibly relocated to a residence near Berlin. In the meantime, the administration of the Duchy of Warsaw was assumed by a Governor General appointed by the Emperor of Russia.
