6 Nov 1813 the provinces of Northern America (América Septentrional) under the rule of the Spanish monarchy are declared independent in accordance with an act approved by an assembly, styled the Congress of Anáhuac (Congreso de Anáhuac), at the session held on 6 Nov 1813 in Chilpancingo (Lemoine 1991, p. 421-425; Hernández y Dávalos, 6:221-222)
24 Oct 1814 the Constitutional Decree for the Liberty of Mexican America (Decreto Constitucional para la Libertad de la América Mexicana) is read and published at a public ceremony held in Apatzingán on 21 Oct 1814, approved by the Supreme Congress (Congreso Supremo) on 22 Oct 1814 and promulgated by the Supreme Government on 24 Oct 1814 (Constitutional Decree 1814, pp. 1-34)
15 Dec 1815 the Supreme Congress and the Supreme Government, established under the provisions of the Constitutional Decree of 1814, are forcibly dissolved as a result of the coup organized by the leaders of a dissident faction of insurgents on 15 Dec 1815 in Tehuacán (Bustamante, 3:309-315)
