[1] Pending the taking office by the President of the National Government Lín Sēn (林森) who neither accepted the legality of the National Government (Nanjing), nor assumed the office.
[2] Appointed to exercise the functions of office of the President of the National Government during the absence of the incumbent by a resolution of the Central Political Committee (Zhōngyāng zhèngzhì wěiyuánhuì | 中央政治委員會) of 22 Mar 1944. Wāng Zhàomíng departed for Japan (3 Mar 1944) where he died on 10 Nov 1944.
[3] Elected by the Central Political Committee (Zhōngyāng zhèngzhì wěiyuánhuì | 中央政治委員會) on 12 Nov 1944 and immediately took office. Formal inauguration followed on 20 Nov 1944.
