[1] The government of Buenos Aires was entrusted to exercise executive authority on behalf of the provinces in accordance with Art. 7 of the law passed by the Congreso General Constituyente 23 Jan 1825; acceptance of executive authority was communicated to the Congreso General Constituyente in a message of the governor of Buenos Aires dated 27 Jan 1825 (submitted to the Congreso the same day).
[2] Also in official use: Gobierno de la Provincia de Buenos Aires como encargado del Poder Ejecutivo Nacional por el Congreso General Constituyente de las Provincias Unidas del Río de la Plata and Gobierno encargado del Poder Ejecutivo Nacional.
[3] Presidente de las Provincias Unidas del Río de la Plata was the style prescribed by Art. 3 of the statute on appointment of permanent national executive (6 Feb 1826). It was originally used along with Presidente de la República de las Provincias Unidas del Río de la Plata and Presidente de la República in official documents. The latter became the only style in use since June 1826.
[4] Usually styled Presidente Provisorio de la República.
