Biography:

Born in the family of future President of the United States George H.W. Bush; founded the Bush Exploration (1975); involved in oil and gas business; unsuccessful candidate at election to the to the House of Representatives (1978); held management positions in several firms; elected Governor of Texas (1994); reelected (1998); served 17 Jan 1995 - 21 Dec 2000; narrowly won the presidential elections (2000), where Vice-President Albert Gore received majority in the popular vote, but 25 electoral votes from Florida eventually gave Bush a margin of 4 votes in the electoral colledge (Gore was refusing to recognize his defeat until 13 Dec 2000, but after almost two-month battle in the courts conceded).

[2] In Minnesota, one Kerry Elector cast a ballot for president with the name of "John Ewards" (sic) written on it. The Electoral College officials certified this ballot as a vote for John Edwards for president. The remaining nine electors cast ballots for John Kerry. All ten electors in the state cast ballots for John Edwards for Vice President.
