[1]	Also provided for amendments to the Constitution of 1978, replacing the former polity style with Çumḩurii Toçikiston.
[2]	The Declaration of Sovereignty which had been passed by the Supreme Council on 24 Aug 1990 was amended by a resolution of the Supreme Council on 9 Sep 1991 to reflect the changes in the status of Tajikistan as an independent state (Supreme Council Records, 1991, No. 18 [1103], Art. 238).
