[1] The Constitution of 1979 (effective 1980-1993) and the Constitution of 1993 (effective from 1993) refer to the holder of the office exclusively as Presidente de la República. This style is used for promulgation as part of the constitutionally prescribed formula, while Presidente Constitucional de la República is normally attached to the signature of the incumbent.
[2] Japanese: Fujimori Ken'ya; Alberto Fujimori Fujimori is the form of the name in official use; the correct maternal family name Inomoto is documented in use in his religious marriage certificate.
[3] Fujimori was discharged from the office of President of the Republic by a resolution of the Congreso passed 21 Nov 2000. His constitutional successor, Second Vice President of the Republic Ricardo Márquez Flores, refused to take office of the President of the Republic and submitted his resignation as Second Vice President. It was accepted by a resolution of the Congreso passed 22 Nov 2000.
