| On 12 Jun 1798 most of the members of the Government were arrested and the Uitvoerend Bewind (Execuitve Authority) was dissolved; a five-member Intermediair Bestuur (Interim Government) was formed; its five members organised themselves on 14 Jun 1798 as the Intermediair Uitvoerend Bewind (Interim Executive Authority); under its authority a new legislature took office on 31 Jul 1798 and elected a new Uitvoerend Bewind, which took office on 17 Aug 1798; chairmanship of the Interim Executive Authority was in weekly rotation. |
