[1] From 19 Jun 1920 to 13 Nov 1922 normally as a part of the formula E. Respublikos Prezidento Pareigas Steigiamojo Seimo Pirmininkas in promulgating legislative acts.
[2] Stulginskis ceased to exercise the functions of office following the election of a successor (7 Jun 1926) in accordance with Art. 44 of the Constitution of 1922, but the Constitution did not make a provision for exercising the functions of Respublikos Prezidentas during the vacancy. Grinius was sworn in 8 Jun 1926.
[3] Grinius submitted a letter of resignation (dated 18 Dec 1926) to the president of the Seimas stating it would be effective on the same date. On 19 Dec 1926 the letter was submitted to the Seimas which did not act on resignation and immediately proceeded with the election of a successor who was sworn in the same day.
[4] Declared to have resigned his office effective 16 Jun 1940 after his departure from national territory which had occurred 15 Jun 1940.
[5] Normally as a part of the formula E. Respublikos Prezidento p. Ministras Pirmininkas in promulgating legislative acts.
